GAS FLOW METER

Gas Flow Meter

A gas flow meter is an instrument used to measure the quantity or flow rate of gas passing through a pipe or a system. It plays a crucial role in industries such as oil and gas, chemical, food and beverage, and utilities where accurate gas flow measurement is essential for process control, safety, and billing.

Specification of Gas flow meter

1. Flow Range

  • Definition: Minimum and maximum flow rates the meter can measure.
  • Units: Standard Cubic Meters per Hour (SCMH), Cubic Feet per Minute (CFM), Liters per Minute (LPM), etc.
  • Example: 0.01 to 1000 m³/h.

2. Accuracy

  • Definition: The degree to which the flow meter can measure the actual gas flow.
  • Typical Range: ±0.5% to ±3% of reading.
  • Example: ±1.5% of reading.

3. Repeatability

  • Definition: How consistently the meter can reproduce the same measurement under unchanged conditions.
  • Typical Range: ±0.1% to ±0.5% of reading.

4. Operating Pressure

  • Definition: The range of pressures at which the flow meter can operate safely.
  • Units: Bars, Pascals (Pa), or Pounds per Square Inch (psi).
  • Example: 0.5 to 25 bar (7 to 362 psi).

5. Operating Temperature

  • Definition: The temperature range within which the meter can operate.
  • Units: Degrees Celsius (°C) or Fahrenheit (°F).
  • Example: -40°C to 150°C (-40°F to 302°F).
